As we move into what has become the ‘new normal’ with the COVID-19 pandemic returning to work can be a daunting prospect. In light of the UK Government’s plan to encourage people back to work if safe to do so, we want to further state our commitment to both our employees and customers in terms of their safety and health being of upmost importance to us. We want all employees to be returning to work with confidence their health is priority.
To enable us to safely return and carry on operating we have introduced several new policies and procedures. This will help us limit potential spread and protect our employees and customers.
Safety measures in place
- Social distancing measures (2m) are in place for all Fox Brothers offices and sites, with all staff communicated to on a regular basis with up-to-date government guidance and advice.
- No paperwork policy – Temporary policy to avoid possible cross contamination with all delivery / collection tickets / paperwork self-certified and sent electronically.
- PPE provided where required i.e. drivers supplied with masks to access certain sites, gloves and hand sanitiser provided to all employees to control possible spread.
- Only essential staff are required back in the workplace with all other staff working from home where possible.
- Where employees report possible symptoms, they contact our Coronavirus Co-Ordinator for best advice. Dependent on outcome of this they are then told to self-isolate for a minimum of 7 days (dependent on circumstances) and in line with the UK Government’s guidelines. We also request that they get tested prior to returning to work.
- Risk Assessments and Policies are being updated to ensure best practice and safety measures are in place. This is essential for where our employees will be operating and in terms of our customer’s safety.
- External meetings are currently conducted via telephone and video call only with no access to Fox Brothers offices for external personnel.
- All employees must sanitise hands before entering Fox Brothers office space. Regular hand washing and sanitising also encouraged, with safety information and posters displayed.
- Control of airflow within offices in terms of not using circulating air conditioning systems and ensuring windows are open where required.
We’re stronger together
Our focus through these difficult and unprecedented times should be supporting each other. Together we all have a responsibility for protecting our employees, colleagues, customers and the communities we love and work in. Everyone should be returning to work with confidence their health and well-being is priority.
We will continue to do all we can to ensure safe working practice and are constantly reviewing UK Government advice and guidelines.
If you wish to get in touch with us regarding any works that may be required, please do not hesitate to contact us.
In the meantime and from all of us at Fox Brothers – Stay safe.
